Lloyds British Training Services has returned to the Corus, South Wales, plants. They will be commencing on site safety training at Llanwern and shortly after, the Port Talbot works.
After a significant reduction in output over the last 10 months, the sites are increasing production levels which has meant that Lifting Operations’ training can recommence.
Lloyds British will be working closely with Corus on a hybrid approach, which will mean that, wherever possible Lloyds British Trainers will be delivering training alongside Corus Internal Trainers (trained by Lloyds British) in order to facilitate the requirements from within.
Steve Downing, Group Safety and Training Director said "This approach is the best possible solution for Corus in the current climate and recognises the part that Lloyds British can play in ensuring that the highest standards of training and competence can be achieved when training budgets are constrained" .
Lloyds British Training Services will continue to provide onsite training at all the main Corus sites within Great Britain, as and when required.
