UK-based inspection and testing company Lloyds British Testing has secured a further five year contract from Anglian Water for the statutory inspection of 26,000 items of lifting equipment at over 4,000 of the utility company’s sites.
Anglian’s decision to stay with Lloyds was based on the organisation’s ability to meet strict criteria on price, financial stability, compliance and health and safety as well as the provision of value added services.
Said Lloyds British Testing’s managing director, Trevor Dale: “This is an extremely prestigious contract to win and it is all the more gratifying because it gives recognition to the high standard of work we have carried out for Anglian Water over the last five years.
“The company was particularly impressed with our enthusiasm to continually improve the services we provide for them. Recent innovations have included the introduction of hand-held technology for data input, updating of the asset register and the transmitting of documentation via our extranet website direct to their own computers.”
Items to be inspected include written schemes and drawings, pressure systems, local exhaust ventilation systems and below-the-hook equipment. Lloyds British Testing will also be supplying consultancy on lifting equipment and design.
